Teaching Philosophy
The relationship between teacher and student is a partnership - a 2-way exchange. We work together to establish habits of relaxation, diaphragmatic breathing, forward release of breath, pitch and text.
A well-trained voice - the performer's most valuable tool - responds with ease to the creative impulse of song and/or character. By keeping the critical left brain occupied with the technical process, the creative right brain is free to play.
Together, we return your body - a brilliant vocal instrument - to its' original alignment and function, where it performs brilliantly with ease. We open the voice to clearly communicate music, text and most importantly, to create an immediate intimacy with the audience.
